Evanescence were formed in the late '90s by singer Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. They began releasing a number of self released EPs and an album, Origin. Evanescence signed with Wind-Up records and two of their songs, "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", made it onto the Daredevil soundtrack.

"Bring Me to Life", a duet with label mate Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, became a smash and their debut Wind-Up album, Fallen was released. The album was a success due to the continued exposure of the ubiquitous hit "Bring Me to Life".
