Detailed Biography of Julia Stiles: Full Biography
Julia O'Hara Stiles was born on March 28, 1981, in New York City, USA. She was interested in performing from a very young age. At age 11, she wrote a letter to a Manhattan theater director asking to be cast in a production, she made her debut as a child actress with the experimental off-Broadway La MaMa Theatre. In 1996, at 15, Julia Stiles made her film debut with a small part in "I Love You, I Love You Not ". Next featured in The Devil's Own (1997) - as the daughter of Harrison Ford, her breakout role came on TV with the hard-hitting mini-movie "Before Women Had Wings" (1997), and followed with roles in two 1998 films, "Wide Awake" and the "Sundance entry Wicked".

In 1999, she played her wish role in "10 Things I Hate About You", which was based on the Bard's "The Taming of The Shrew", Stiles won her the Chicago Film Critics Award as the volatile teen Kat; director Michael Almereyda's, an updated version of Hamlet (2000) - with Ethan Hawke, and another updated version of "Othello" entitled O (2001) - with Josh Hartnett and Mekhi Phifer.

Julia Stiles later portrayed Viola off-Broadway in a Shakespeare-in-the-Park production of "Twelfth Night" in 2002. Her other films include A Guy Thing (2003, with Jason Lee) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003), with Julia Roberts). Recently, she played A Little Trip to Heaven (2005), The Omen (2006).

Stile's major genres are Drama, Comedy. Julia is also known for her ability as a writer. As a teenager, she was a regular contributor to ZuZu which was a New York based children's magazine that existed from 1992 to 1995 (It was published by Restless Youth Press, Inc).
