While grabbing a Big Mac in a shopping mall, she was seen by a modeling agent who approached her and asked if she had any interest in becoming a model. Despite her father's lack of approval of the career choice, he allowed her to move to Sao Paulo and she entered the Elite Look Modeling Competition, and her career took off. Gisele has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with North American lingerie firm, Victoria's Secret. The Brazilian beauty appeared in several of their lingerie, beauty and hosiery campaigns for television and print, as well as in their point-of-sale materials. According to rumors that circulated amongst the fashion crowd during New York Fashion Week, Gisele received a cool 20 million US dollars for the job.

Gisele Bundchen talks about "Taxi"
Q: You had numerous offers to do movies in the past, why did you choose to do Taxi as your first role?
Gisele Bundchen: Because number one, I'm a workaholic. I've been doing my job for a long time and I never really thought about being an actress or being anything like that. I was always a bit scared as well because of the thing about models becoming an actress and all that. I just never really took it seriously. I would be like, "Whatever, I don't care about this," you know?
Q: Luc Besson was very insistent?
Gisele Bundchen: But then Luc Besson was pretty insistent. He kept calling my agent saying, "OK, come on. You've got to do it. I can make it a Brazilian gang of bank robbers so she doesn't have to do an American accent. I just need her for two weeks. We can work around her schedule." And in the beginning I was like, "I'm not so sure I want to do this," but then he kept calling and I was like, "You know what? I want to do this." I read the script and I though it was funny. I didn't feel like there was a possibility of carrying the movie. And it was not like I was taking myself seriously and being like, okay, now I'm going to be an actress and I'm going to do a Shakespeare movie. I'm doing a comedy. It's a funny movie and I'm not carrying about myself. Jimmy and Latifah are responsible for that. I'm just going to have fun. So I said, "Why not?" I did it and I had a blast.

What She Said?
“Sometimes when it's too hot, I just sleep in my underwear. If it's colder, I sleep in pajamas. I don't like to feel closed in. I like no pillows. I like very fluffy beds. I sleep on my stomach and sometimes on my side, but never on my back. Now, if I have my boyfriend with me, I kick him out of bed, because I move around a lot. I'm the worst person. I steal blankets.”
