Daughter of actress/singer Nancy Priddy and former record company executive Robert Applegate, Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. After her parents' divorce and her father's new marriage, Christina had two stepsiblings, sister Alisa (b. 1977) and brother Kyle (b. 1981). She once was a student at Excelsior High School in Los Angeles, but dropped out to pursue an acting career.
Christina Applegate dated actor Johnathon Schaech from January 1998 until they exchanged wedding vows on October 20, 2001, in a small Palm Springs ceremony. Currently an owner of West Hollywood restaurant Faulkner's Brasserie, Applegate resides in Los Angeles with her cats, Natasha and Kanaloa, and German shepherd Sybil. Off screen, she enjoys reading books about spirituality and writing poetry. She is also an avid jazz dancer and supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
At the tender age of three months old, Christina Applegate made her TV debut appearing with her mother in the soap "Days of Our Lives" and later, at age five months, was seen in a commercial for Playtex.
Christina landed on the big screen at age nine when she was seen in the 1981 films Jaws of Satan (a.k.a. King Cobra) and Beatlemania.
