Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tour Dinosaur museum

Brad Pitt marked the impending end of his marriage to Jennifer Aniston with a visit to a Canadian dinosaur museum with rumoured lover Angelina Jolie.

The couple's four-year marriage was terminated in Los Angeles on Friday, but their "marital partnership" will not officially end until October.

Over the weekend, Pitt entertained Jolie and her son Maddox who came to visit him in Calgary, Alberta, where he is due to begin filming The Assassination of Jesses James next week.

The Mr and Mrs Smith co-stars and four-year-old Maddox enjoyed a tour of the Royal Tyrrell Museum near Drumheller on Saturday, confirms the museum's spokeswoman Wendy Taylor.

Taylor enthuses, "They did not ask us to close the museum or for an after-hours visit or any special treatment. They arrived around 7pm and stayed for an hour.

"The other people in the museum at the time were very respectful. The only unfortunate thing was that word leaked out and quite a crowd collected outside the main entrance, so we had to find an alternate exit for them. They are both very down-to-earth people and most appreciative."

Brad Pitt (William Bradley Pitt) was born on the 18th of December, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and remains a mid-Westerner to the core. He was raised, alongside brother Doug and sister Julie, in Springfield, Missouri. His father, Bill, managed a trucking firm, working six days a week for 36 years - something of which Brad is very proud. His mother, Jane, was a High School counselor, but his mind-set was influenced more by his dad. "Where I grew up," he once said "you deal. You get through it, power through it, straight up the middle. And you don't complain". It's an attitude that's served him well as he's battled the improbable pressures of stardom.

Due to Bill's success, the Pitts never really wanted for anything, and Brad in particular used this as a springboard to try everything. A decent fellow, he was brought up as a Baptist, singing in the church choir. He loved movies, later recalling a fine day spent at an Ape-athon, watching all five Planet Of The Apes films, back-to-back. At Kickapoo High School he was involved in everything. He was a member of the golf, tennis and swimming teams, as well as the Key and Forensics clubs. He was into debating, school government and school musicals.

“The assassins thing is secondary to me. The movie to me plays so much more on the level of relationships. That was kind of the backdrop or the metaphor for getting lost in your work. But having said that, [Angelina Jolie’s] a damn good shot,” joked Pitt.
