Quotations by Beyonce Knowles:
Love is something that never goes out of style. It's something everybody experiences, and if they are not in love, people usually want to feel that. So if you hear the album, it's very romantic.
They do get on but I'm a daddy's girl and that's what he finds so hard to let go of [on tension between her Dad and boyfriend Jay-Z]
If he invited you out, he's got to pay.
I don't use backing tapes when I am singing and dancing on stage. I can do cartwheels and sing.
You know what, I'm very attracted to someone who makes me laugh and is that charming. Really, I could be charmed by anyone. I'm just a sucker for somebody that is charming.

Latest News: Destiny's Take a Bow
Divas' last performance is inspired and tearful (Sep 12, 2005)
This June, Destiny's Child announced their plans to break up at the close of their current world tour. This Saturday night in Vancouver was the blockbuster R&B/pop trio's final performance, and with it came several costume changes and a powerful set of non-stop hits.
One thing that came as no surprise was the fact that a tour titled Destiny Fulfilled . . . And Lovin' It would unfortunately be jam-packed with advertisements: Mickie D's and Tommy Hilfiger ads, featuring the ladies front and center in each, appeared in the glossy program guide, while commercials for Gummie Bears appeared on the projection screens before the show. (The evening's one sour note occurred near the close of the night, when the trio sang a scripted fast-food jingle, bringing new meaning to the term "bad taste.")
But, product placement aside, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Beyonce Knowles kicked off the night in great form. With their sparkly costumes blowing in the wind machine, the resplendent three launched into a gospel-influenced version of "Say My Name." Not surprisingly, Beyonce took an early lead in the vocal Olympics, belting out her solos in near-religious fashion. Opening and closing the number a cappella, the trio's flawless harmonies showed the level of perfection that come with natural-born talent plus fifteen years of relentless hard work.

Destiny's Child is an R&B girl group from Houston, signed to Columbia and first premiered on Men in Black: The Album with their song "Killing Time." Early in 1998, the group released their self-titled debut album, featuring the single "No, No, No (Part II)" featuring Wyclef Jean. The quartet, including Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland (Beyonce's cousin), LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, also toured with Jean. The group's sophomore album The Writing's on the Wall followed in 1999 and immediately spawned the number one smash "Bills, Bills, Bills," which topped both the pop and R&B charts.
By the end of the year, "Say My Name" had duplicated the feat, and ended up becoming one of the biggest hits of 2000. But just as the group had broken through to superstardom, Roberson and Luckett abruptly left in March of 2000, filing a lawsuit against the group and manager Matthew Knowles (Beyoncé's father and Kelly's guardian). The two were replaced by similar-looking 18-year-old Farrah Franklin and 19-year-old Michelle Williams, who debuted in the video for "Say My Name" (much to some fans' surprise).
Five months after her addition, Franklin announced that she too was leaving. Undaunted, the remaining trio recorded the theme song for the film revival of Charlie's Angels; "Independent Women" became another across-the-board smash that fall, topping the charts by the end of the year. Roberson and Luckett dropped the portion of their lawsuit directed at the group itself in early 2001; they soon formed a new group called Angel, while Farrah Franklin began work on a solo album. Meanwhile, Destiny's Child released their third album, Survivor, in May.
